The course is a mix of single track, double track and fire road that winds through the South Bay hills and along the shore of the Calero Reservoir.
The course is a balance of steady climbs and flowy descents making it perfect for the marathon format.
While we are booking this as an MTB race - it could easily be a gravel race and we welcome all gravel fans to join us!
Each lap is 8.75 miles with 750 ft of elevation gain.

The beautiful Calero County Park is set in the hills just south of San Jose. The park features two singletrack/doubletrack MTB loops which will be appended to make the Calero 44 course. The course is very fast, with moderate climbing - none of it is steep. It snakes in and out of the natural curvature of the hills. Think Fort Ord with gravel instead of sand, or Shoreline at China Camp. Speeds should be very high, which is ideal for endurance racing. Did we mention it's great on a gravel bike?
