Fort Ord is legendary for its ultra-fast trails. This is where you will lay down some serious speed without running into a lot of technical features. Average speeds can exceed 18 MPH for top finishers depending on the course. On that note - Fort Ord features nearly limitless course variation. Additional lap length will be achieved by adding trails owned by the Bureau of Land Management. The Fort Ord 50 will take advantage of trails and features to create a 12.5 mile course with sections that will be new to many riders in a race format (unless you did Fuego XL). We don't mind putting the extra work into course design!
